In memory of a wonderful teacher of music at St. Mary's School (Holmhurst), Baldslow. Mrs Carter made singing a joyous and fulfilling event for so many of us girls at St. Mary's. Her smile, enthusiasm and vivacity shone out like a beacon. Many of us kept in touch with her after leaving school and it was always a privilege to be back singing together with her at her home or at reunions. Doreen composed much of the lovely music we sang in class, chapel or at reunions.
